Information we collect
We collect the information needed to operate Muro and support marketplace activity between advertisers and hosts.
- Account details, including name, email address, company information, account role, and password hash.
- Listing details, including venue information, ad formats, pricing, availability, uploaded images, and location context.
- Placement request details, host lead submissions, request-list offers, counteroffers, and messages submitted through the platform.
- Basic technical information, including session cookies, device and browser details, and limited request logs used for security and reliability.
How we use information
We use information to create accounts, show listings, route requests, support conversations, process marketplace workflows, and keep the service reliable.
- To authenticate users and protect account access.
- To display public listing information and connect advertisers with the right hosts.
- To support bookings, messages, offers, notifications, and customer support.
- To improve product quality, prevent abuse, and maintain platform records.
Payments
Muro uses Stripe for checkout and related payment processing. Payment details are handled by Stripe and are not stored directly in Muro’s app database.
Sharing
We share information only when it is needed to provide the service. For example, hosts and advertisers may see relevant request, offer, listing, and message details so they can coordinate a placement.
We may also share limited information with service providers that help operate Muro, such as hosting, storage, email, analytics, and payment providers.
Google Maps and Google Places
When a Google Maps feature is enabled and you use it, Google may receive the technical and request data needed to provide that feature, such as your IP address, browser or device information, and an address, map, or location query you submit.
If Muro separately enables the optional Google Places venue-photo fallback, Muro’s server sends venue name, address, and location context when matching an eligible venue without a durable venue photo, and sends the matched Google place identifier when requesting current photo details. It does not send your Muro account, message, campaign, or payment information for that fallback. This disclosure does not indicate whether the optional fallback is currently enabled and does not itself represent Google approval or authorization.
Google handles information it receives under the Google Privacy Policy. Use of Google Maps features and content is also subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain marketplace records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve platform safety.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can update account information from settings. You can also contact Muro to ask about account data, privacy questions, or requests related to your information.
Muro uses cookies to keep users signed in and maintain account sessions. These cookies support normal service operation and are not used to build advertising profiles.
